Even More Excitement at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen

From December 12 to 14, biathlon fans can look forward to a spectacular World Cup weekend in Hochfilzen. Six thrilling races, a great supporting program, and the official biathlon parties in Hochfilzen as well as other venues throughout the Pillersee Valley will ensure an unforgettable atmosphere both during and beyond the competitions.

The Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen has long been one of the most atmospheric events on the racing calendar. Once again this year, tens of thousands of fans will transform the small village in the Pillersee Valley into a true mecca for biathlon enthusiasts, and the stadium into a cauldron of excitement. In hardly any other sport can spectators get as close to the action as they do in Hochfilzen. From the grandstands, visitors can experience the start, the tension at the shooting range, and the cheers at the finish line — and along the course, the stars are practically within reach. Giant video screens in the stadium provide perfect race coverage, while the experienced commentator team keeps the crowd energized throughout the event.

Thrilling Races
The World Cup weekend kicks off on December 12 at 11:25 a.m. with the men’s sprint, followed in the afternoon by the women’s sprint. Local biathlon stars such as Anna Gandler, Lisa Hauser, and Simon Eder will be giving their all to secure top results. After all, the sprint results also determine the starting positions for the pursuit races — scheduled for Saturday at 12:00 p.m. for the men and Sunday at 2:45 p.m. for the women, providing a thrilling finale to the weekend. The women’s relay takes place on Saturday at 2:15 p.m., while the men’s relay on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. rounds off the racing action. Award ceremonies will be held immediately after each race in the stadium.
No wonder ticket demand is already high — though tickets are still available in almost all categories. They can be conveniently purchased online through the official website: www.biathlon-hochfilzen.at

Excellent Supporting Program
Around the stadium, visitors can look forward to a fantastic range of side events. From 9:00 a.m. on each competition day, food trucks will be serving up culinary delights, while the fan hall offers music and live streams to get everyone in the mood for the races. On Friday and Saturday, the biathlon festivities continue into the night with the official parties at the Kulturhaus and various other venues in the Pillersee Valley, featuring live music. A free shuttle service ensures everyone gets home safely.

Free Public Transport
Every visitor to the Hochfilzen World Cup can book a special ticket for free public transport to and from the event. This ticket is valid for travel across Tyrol on all VVT regional connections (excluding the Innsbruck core zone, ÖBB IC, ÖBB EC, ÖBB Railjet, and WESTbahn services).
For shuttle bus connections from Saalfelden to Hochfilzen and within the Pillersee Valley, the event admission ticket also serves as a valid travel pass.
