Experience Day at the Biathlon Stadium for the Winners of the “Schools’ Day”
On Friday, December 13, 2024, after a five-year hiatus, the “Schools’ Day” was once again held as part of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Hochfilzen, with participation from numerous schools. In total, we had the pleasure of welcoming over 1,100 students.
Many of the participating schools impressed with their outstanding presentations and, above all, their creativity. The winning school—selected through an online public vote—was the Volksschule Hochfilzen.
Shortly before the end of the school year, the winning school was rewarded with an “Experience Day at the Biathlon Stadium in Hochfilzen.”
On Friday, June 27, 2025, the entire Volksschule Hochfilzen took part in a memorable event filled with exciting experiences. The students were divided into five groups and rotated through five different activity stations every 30 minutes.
This year’s activity stations included:
- Laser shooting in the indoor shooting range at the Biathlon Stadium
- A fun and informative stadium tour followed by a quiz
- An obstacle course designed to test agility and speed
- A ride in Austrian Armed Forces vehicles—including a "Pinzgauer" and a fire engine
- A visit to the Pack Animal Center, featuring demonstrations with numerous Haflinger horses and even some riding
This exciting and action-packed day for the students of Volksschule Hochfilzen and their accompanying teachers concluded with a hearty snack at the Tirolhaus.
As a special highlight, Austria’s top biathlete, Dominik Landertinger, personally welcomed all participants in front of the Tirolhaus and expressed his delight at the high level of engagement during the “Schools’ Day.”
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this school event not only successful and diverse but also safe.
We now wish all children and teaching staff a wonderful and relaxing summer holiday, and we look forward to seeing you again!
