Jeanmonnot Triumphs in the Pursuit

Siegerpodium

After yesterday's sprint, today's program for the women in Hochfilzen (AUT) featured a pursuit race. Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonnot delivered an impressive performance, remaining flawless at the shooting range and securing a convincing second victory of the season. Behind her, two German women, Vanessa Voigt (+33.8 sec./no misses) and Franziska Preuß (+35.3 sec./3 missed shots), claimed the remaining podium spots.

From an Austrian perspective, Lisa Hauser provided the best result of the day with a strong comeback. The Tyrolean, who started in 34th place, made only one shooting error, gained 19 positions, and finished in a solid 15th place, 1:46.0 minutes behind the winner. Anna Gandler, who made two shooting errors, finished 24th (+2:18.8 min.) and earned some World Cup points. After her strong debut yesterday, Anna Andexer faced some difficulties at the shooting range today, having to make seven penalty loops, and ended in 56th place (+4:55.0 min.).

Lisa Hauser (15th place): "Today, you had to go full throttle right from the start. The competition is extremely tough, and it was difficult to keep up with the pace from the beginning. I’m absolutely satisfied with making up 19 places and finishing in 15th place. I think I got the most out of myself today and still feel really good. It was really cool that I was able to maintain my position with a strong performance in the final lap."
