The men’s pursuit race at the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen concluded in front of a fantastic crowd with a French triumph. Starting the race in second place, Éric Perrot delivered an almost flawless performance under bright sunshine, hitting all 20 targets and ultimately securing a clear victory over yesterday’s sprint winner Tommaso Giacomel (+10.2 seconds / 1 missed shot). Third place went to Norway’s Johan-Olav Botn (+29.0 seconds / 1 missed shot).

Austria’s top finisher once again was Simon Eder. The Salzburg native made a total of three shooting errors and finished 30th, 3:33.7 minutes behind the winner. David Komatz placed 50th with two missed shots (+5:10.4 minutes). Fabian Müllauer endured a disastrous day on the shooting range and was forced to abandon the race early after being lapped.
