Roeiseland triumphant in pursuit competition

Winners´ podium

This year’s world cup weekend in Hochfilzen concluded with the women’s pursuit competition. Marte Olsbu Roeiseland secured her second world cup victory this season. The Norwegian had to do just one penalty loop and narrowly finished 4.1 seconds ahead of Hanna Sola, the winner of yesterday’s sprint competition. The Belarussian was in the lead for a long time but in the end, missing three targets, she had to admit defeat to the Norwegian. Third place went to Elvira Oeberg from Sweden (+23.3sec./1 miss).

Lisa Hauser missed out for an absolute top result in her final home race this season. The Tyrolean’s skiing performance was strong, but she did not have her best day at the shooting range. Having to do four penalty loops, the 27-year-old finished in 23rd place (+2:03.7min).

Lisa Hauser (23rd): Especially the two misses at the final standing shooting are bit annoying to me because I was already close to the top-15 which would have been my goal before the race. Skiing-wise, I felt pretty good today. The third and fourth lap were a bit more difficult as I had to ski a lot on my own. However, the final lap was quite good again, so I am quite confident for the future. I did not achieve a top-15 result but missing four targets I cannot expect anything else.”
