Scandinavian Athletes Dominating Pursuit

Tiril Eckhoff from Norway has won the 10 km pursuit competition in front of Hanna Öberg from Sweden (+25.8 sec) and her fellow Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (+39.7 sec). Starting from eighth position, she already took the lead after the second bout of shooting and clearing all targets she was able to celebrate her seventh victory in a world cup race. Sprint winner Dorothea Wierer (ITA) had to settle for the ninth place after doing five penalty loops.

It has been a disappointing race from an Austrian point of view. Katharina Innerhofer who has continually worked herself towards the front of the front of the field and who was in ninth position after the third shooting, was set back to the 34th place after missing four targets and the final standing shooting. Local hero Lisa Hauser who started from 11th position had a mishap (crossfire) and she finished in 39th place.
