Tickets are already available for purchase for the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen in December 2026. Meanwhile, construction work for the 2028 World Championships is also in full swing.

The demand for tickets for the upcoming Biathlon World Cup is already significantly higher than in previous years, and the reason for this is clear: after all, the final World Cup before the 2028 Biathlon World Championships in Hochfilzen will take place from December 4th to 6th. Experience shows that fans from Scandinavia and overseas in particular want to use this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the local conditions. Reason enough to secure one of the coveted tickets early on.

The competition schedule for 2026 leaves nothing to be desired. The men's and women's sprint races on Friday, December 4th, will kick off the World Cup weekend. Although three experienced top performers—Lisa Hauser, Simon Eder, and David Komatz—are no longer competing, the young ÖSV (Austrian Ski Association) team is hoping for a good placement, as this simultaneously determines the starting positions for the pursuit races taking place the following day. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, December 6th, with the relay races.

Away from the racing action, fans will also get their full money's worth. Together with the Pillerseetal Tourism Association, a varied entertainment program featuring live acts, culinary delights, and shows is being created around the World Cup Weekend.

Looking Ahead to the 2028 World Championships
Although there is still some time until the Biathlon World Championships, preparations—particularly the construction measures—are already in full swing. When the starting signal for the 14-day World Championships is given on February 7, 2028, fans, athletes, sponsors, VIP guests, media, and staff should find perfect conditions.

To achieve this, tunnels for spectators and athletes are being built, adjustments are being made to the shooting range approach, and fitness and treatment rooms along with changing rooms are being created. In addition, a larger grandstand with seating is being erected. To ensure the Nordic center remains sustainable beyond the World Championships, the storage rooms will be expanded, the air rifle shooting range will be rebuilt, and the roller ski track will be widened. The Austrian Armed Forces are also remodeling and expanding the soldiers' recreation home.

"We don't just want to create perfect conditions for the World Championships, but also strengthen the location far beyond that in terms of sustainability and long-term use," confirms Organizing Committee Chief Franz Berger.
