Another medal for Laura Dahlmeier

Laura Dahlmeier has many reasons to be happy about: after the mixed relay victory of the German team and her silver medal at the sprint race Germany’s best biathlete was able to win another race.

On the “Super-Sport-Sunday” she won the Pursuit in front of 16.300 thrilled spectators in the stadium of Hochfilzen. Second finished Darya Domracheva from Belarus who with clean shootings managed to reach the podium although she only started from place 27. Sprint winner Gabriela Koukalova came in third. Best Austrian athlete was Lisa Theresa Hauser with her 26th place. Although Dunja Zdouc and Katharina Innerhofer were able to catch up during the race they finished far behind with place 42 and 56.

Laura Dahlmeier: “I am very happy, it’s just a dream. To win my favourite discipline is great. The biggest challenge for me was to deliver a clean shooting.”

Darya Domracheva: “A dreamday and a dreammedal. Today I was able to realize all I wanted. I can’t recall the last time I shot without making a mistake – that’s why I really earn the nick name ‘Comebakc-Girl’.”

Gabriela Koukalova: “I was a little bit nervous at the first shooting. Actually I didn’t expect a medal after that. It was only 500 meters before the finish line that I was certain about being third.”
