In the final race of the Hochfilzen world cup, the Norwegian relay team of Johannes Dale, Erlend Bjoentegaard, Tarjei Bö and Johannes Thingnes Bö has taken the victory in the relay competition men. 10.900 enthusiastic spectators saw what looked like a German victory for a long time until Bö passed DSV final leg runner Benedikt Doll with a fantastic performance.
After winning the sprint competition, Johannes Thingnes Bö has also taken the victory in the pursuit at the Hochfilzen world cup. The 26-year-old cleared all 20 targets and was celebrating an undisputed victory. The other two spots on the podium went to Alexander Loginov from Russia (+33.5 sec) and Emilien Jacquelin from France (+40.5 sec), both of them shooting flawless as well.
The Norwegen team has won the 4 x 6 km women relay competition in Hochfilzen. Despite one penalty loop, Karoline Knotten, Ingrid Tandrevold, Tiril Eckhoff and Mart Olsbu Roiseland took the top podium in an exciting competition 8.2 seconds in front of Russia (Kristina Reztsova, Laris Kuklina, Svetlana Mironova and Ekaterina Yurlova-Percht). The battle for third place was also thrilling until the end. Switzerland, represented by the three Gasparin-sisters and final leg runner Lena Haecki, have been delighted to win the second relay podium in a row in the end.
Johannes Thingnes Bö celebrated his 39th world cup victory in the 10 km Sprint of Hochfilzen. The 26-year-old Norwegian won 7.8 seconds in front of Simon Desthieux who also had to do one penalty loop like Bö. The third place went to Alexander Loginov (+14.6 sec) from Russia who was flawless at the range.
Dorothea Wierer has also won the second sprint competition of the season in Hochfilzen. The 29-year-old Italian had to settle for two penalties at the range, however, the third fastest time on the course got her the top spot on the podium.
Pünktlich vor dem Weltcup-Startschuss in Hochfilzen hat Frau Holle ihre weißen Federn im Tiroler Unterland ausgeschüttet. Bei traumhafter Kulisse laufen im Biathlon-Stadion die letzten Vorbereitungsarbeiten, bevor es am Freitag mit den beiden Sprintbewerben endlich losgeht.
Das Team rund um Franz Berger (OK Hochfilzen) rührt im Rahmen des „Tag des Sports“ in Wien kräftig die Werbetrommel.
Ein erstes Kräftemessen der heimischen Biathleten und Biathletinnen ging am Wochenende in Hochfilzen über die Bühne.
