The Women Alpine Europe Cup-Team has made a training stop at the Biathlon Stadium Hochfilzen. Roller skiing and shooting have been the day’s tasks… a training with a difference!
In the course of the Tyrolean Sportsperson Awards, Franz Berger, also known as “Mr. Biathlon“, has been honored with a special award (Viktor). Berger, who has been serving as club official and then as president of the HSV since the 70s, was surprised and very much moved by this high honoring. “Someone who pulls the strings but who does not like to be in the spotlight” (quote Tiroler Tageszeitung), has been promoting biathlon with his tireless effort in Austria.
On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, Dominik Landertinger has been welcomed by the HSV Hochfilzen with a small and fine celebration in the Tirolhaus of the Biathlon Stadium Hochfilzen to celebrate his bronze medal of the Olympic Winter Games of Pyeongchang (South Korea). The President of the HSV-Hochfilzen, Franz Berger, honored Dominik’s excellent performance in his speech.

Just like at the last World Championships, Germany was triumphant in the women’s relay competition. Vanessa Hinz, Franziska Hildebrand, Maren Hammerschmidt and Laura Dahlmeier have been leading Olympic Champion, Ukraine by 44.9 seconds and France by 1:04.5 minutes.
The Norwegian quartet, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, Henrik L’Abee-Lund, Erlend Bjoentegaard and Lars Helge Birkeland took an unchallenged victory in Hochfilzen’s Men’s Relay Competition.
In front of about 10.000 spectators, Anastasiya Kuzmina from Slovakia has only missed one target and, after an outstanding race, taken the victory 10.2 seconds in front of Kaisa Mäkäräinen from Finland who had two misses.
